This year, 17,70,042 students filled the forms for matric exam and 12,80,000 students for the intermediate exams.

To stop students from cheating this year, the Bihar School Examination Board asked students not to wear shoes or socks and enforced several other measures. Candidates were frisked at the entry gate of the exam venue and again after they sat in their allotted seats. They were monitored by video while writing the exam at all centres where extra force and home guards had been deployed.
