Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly Delhi College of Engineering, is going to offer several incentives for students and faculty. The university is instituting ‘merit scholarships’ for the toppers of each branch of BE, BTech, MTech, and MBA programmes. It will offer Rs 10,000 and a certificate of merit to the top ranker in each semester exam and Rs 5,000 and a certificate of merit to the second rank-holder.
To encourage faculty members to publish their research work in reputable journals, the university has decided to give a prize of Rs 11,000 and a certificate of recognition to every faculty member who is able to publish a paper in an international journal of repute. Both the schemes were approved at the first meeting of the university’s board of management. DTU might also set up a Staff College for training and mentoring faculty.
