Delhi Technological University (DTU) formerly Delhi College of Engineering, started its BTech admission process for 2011-12 by making it online. Entry to 15 BTech programmes for a total intake of 1218 will be through online counselling.

Under this online system, all admissions will be made on the basis of merit ranks in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination 2011. The details of the admission procedure are given on the university’s admission website

BTech aspirants need to register by paying a counselling fee at any branch of the State Bank of India through the bank challan to be downloaded from the above website. The registration is due to close on June 15, 2011.

About 1900 students registered themselves in the first two days.

The university is going to allow all those who register by the given deadline to submit the online admission forms along with their preferences for BTech disciplines from June 23 to 29. Choices once locked by the candidates would not be changed.

The first list of admission is to be declared on July 5, 2011, on the website. Successful candidates would be able to download their admission letters. They are required to report for admission at DTU campus on July 6 and 7 for Delhi general category, July 8 for Delhi SC, ST, OBC, KM and SG, July 9 for outside Delhi. Admission of physically handicapped and CW (defence) category candidates is scheduled for July 9.

Resulting vacancies thereafter shall be considered for the second list of allotment which shall be declared on 15th July, 2011. Subsequent list shall be brought out if vacancies still persist.
