The registration process for this year's Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is in progress and will continue till October 1, 2015. If you are eligible for the test, you can apply online on the official website: appsgate.iisc.ernet.in.
Here are a few points to keep in mind while applying online:
You can apply for GATE 2016 by online mode only. First up, you need to register yourself by providing a valid email address, mobile number and a self-generated GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) password. All official communications will be sent to this mail address and mobile number. For all future use, you must keep the password handy (Only one person can register with one e-mail address).
Once you've registered, you will get an email containing the GOAPS enrolment ID. This Enrolment ID and password can be used for login to GOAPS. (Choose a strong password)
You will need to provide the following details while filling the application:
a) Personal information (name, date of birth, your mobile number, parents’ name, parents’ mobile number, etc.);
b) Address for Communication (including PIN code);
c) Eligibility degree details;
d) College address, PIN code of college;
e) GATE paper, choice of GATE examination cities;
f) A high-quality photograph of yours as specified;
g) Good quality image of your signature conforming to the requirements as specified;
h) Scanned copy of degree certificate or certificate from principal/HODs in pdf format;
i) Scanned copy of Category/PwD certificate (if applicable) in pdf format;
j) Details of a valid ID proof that you will carry to the examination hall; and
k) Your net-banking details;
Fill the required details and submit for the application process to complete. You must take a print-out for future use. (Before you make the payment, you will be shown a “Preview” of your application, where you have to carefully check for any errors. Once you press “confirm and final submit” button, no further changes to the application can be made by you.)
An application fee of Rs 750 is to be paid by Women/SC/ST/Pwd candidates, while other candidates will have to pay Rs. 1,500.
