The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) is offering scholarships to international students who wish to study in graduate courses at Japanese universities (undergraduate level), colleges of technology and specialised training colleges.

The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) is offering scholarships to international students who wish to study in graduate courses at Japanese universities (undergraduate level), colleges of technology and specialised training colleges.

Undergraduate programmes offered by Japanese universities is for five-years and comprises of one-year of Japanese language training and four-years of bachelor’s degree course. College of Technology is a four-year programme comprising of one-year Japanese language training and three-years of ­associated degree course. Colleges of Technology conduct practical and professional ­engineering education based on an integrated system with ­general learning and specialised learning.

Specialised Training Colleges offer a three-year programme comprising of one-year of ­language training and two-years of associated certificate course. These are vocational schools that run courses in specialised subjects at the higher education level. The scholarship benefits are full tution fee waiver, monthly stipend and return air ticket.

The deadline for submitting the application is June 20, 2014. The application can be accepted at the Embassy of Japan in New Delhi and Consulates General of Japan in Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, and Consulate of Japan in Bangalore.
