How to get more involved in your community

Being involved with the community is the only way to growth and development. It does not mean that one needs to do a lot of things but even small things can go a long way.
1 Respect elders: Help the elders of your community and be there for them. Get more involved with them.
2 Talk to people around: Engage with other members. Ensure that you maintain open channels of communication with them. Talking helps maintain a sense of bonding in the community.
3 Be willing to help: By helping others, you will only increase goodwill for yourself. Engage and help others as it would benefit you in the long run.
4 Take part in community get-togethers: The best way to connect with others in the community is to be an active participant in community events. This ensures people keep in touch with each other, exchange ideas and work together.
5 Organise peer group activities: Increase peer interaction not just in the form of communication but also by way of active engagement in activities. Doing group activities together enhances connectedness with others around.
6 Take ownership: It is important to take responsibility for the diverse range of things that one does in a group setting at the community level.
7 Always respect the workers: An important way of showing one’s sense of involvement in the community is to also respect everybody around. Respect even those who are underprivileged and are not at the same position in life as you.
8 Take initiative: Do not depend on what others do. Be an active participant and take on roles within the community.
9 Be willing to adapt: Adaptation is an important aspect of life. Learn to adapt to your environment and do things not just according to your wishes but also others.
10 Have fun together: Indulge in fun activities together and spend as much time as you can in such things within your community.
