IIM-Kozhikode to conduct communication course

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode will conduct a communication course on ‘impersonal, interpersonal and hyperpersonal comunication at work’ from December 18 to December 22, 2016.

The course is part of the ministry of human resource development (MHRD) sponsored Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN).

In today’s technology- enabled world, effective communication is the need of the hour for people across the world with diverse backgrounds. This course will cover the principles and practice of effective communication from analysing the communication context and dynamics of relational status to delivering ideas. Participants will be taught to identify their own stereotypes, prejudices, and communication behaviours that can create barriers to impersonal, interpersonal, and hyperpersonal ­relationships.

The course will be jointly taught by Professor Anupam Das of IIMK who is part of the faculty of humanities and liberal arts in management, Professor Richard Buttny of Syracuse University (USA), and Professor Jodi Cohen of Cornell University (USA).People with good command over the English language and with a minimum of a postgraduate degree are eligible to register.
