ISC students who wrote their biology exam paper in Lucknow on Thursday said that it was objective in approach and the questions covered the entire syllabus. They said that the paper was overall easy but a tad lengthy.
Tanishka Gupta, a student of City Montessori School Gomti Nagar branch, said the paper was good. Prashasti, another girl from the same school, said the paper was easy and was quite similar to what was asked during pre-board.
Medha Navya Dwivedi also said that the paper was easy. “The paper was a bit lengthy and a little tricky too,” said Nivriti Singh and Priyanka Upadhyay.
ISC students after writing Biology paper at Hoerner College were quite happy. They surrounded their teacher Nisha Srivastava and discussed the paper and mentioned a couple of tricky questions in Section A.
The question on diagram were easy. Teacher Nisha Srivastava said paper was as expected, with laws of probability from 10 years series in play. The students said that extensive study of the entire course did the trick. All round, it was a balanced paper, she said.
Students of St Teresa’s College, Aashiana and Chetanshi Gupta said the paper was not much easy and a bit lengthy. There was no time left for revision. As compared to previous years, the paper was tough.
Sana said the paper was unexpected but went well. Paper was hard to solve as some of the questions required lot of understanding and deep knowledge about each topic.
Garima Gupta of the same school said that paper was neither easy nor tough. “I completed my paper almost on time as it was lengthy. Biology is one of the scoring paper but this year, it was difficult one,” she said.
Divyanshi Srivastava said that her preparation was good for today’s exam. Though questions were asked from within the syllabus but all of them were not straight forward.
Biology teacher at St Teresa’s College, Aashiana, Arif Ali Ansari found that the ISC Examination 2019, Biology paper was good for high scorers and little tough for mediocre. “Questions were not very common especially in Section A, and rest of the questions were of moderate level,” he said. He said it required thorough knowledge for scoring full marks.
Students of City Montessori School, Aliganj 1 Campus expressed their happiness and satisfaction for the biology paper. The paper was balanced. The students who studied thoroughly round the year found it straight and simple.
A student Yash said that maximum part of paper was theoretical. Most of the students said questions were familiar as all of them were related to previous year board papers.
A student Aditi said questions were application based. Section C was a little bit tricky.
Biology teacher Sujata said, “Though in Section C some questions were twisted but the rest of the paper was scoring for an average student”.
Principal Jyoti Kashyap expressed satisfaction as the hard work put in by students and the subject teacher round the year proved fruitful.
Anubhuti Mathur, a class 12 student of Mount Assisi School Bhagalpur, Bihar, who appeared in the ISC Biology exam, said, “The questions were easy for the students who worked hard throughout the year. However, the pattern of questions from each topic was different compared to the normal pattern. The expected question from genetics were not asked. More emphasis was given on biotechnology and human reproduction. Overall the paper was an easy one for me.”
A biology teacher Aditya Shankar Jha of Happy Valley School in Bhagalpur said the “questions were standard in nature. There was not much scope for students to express their knowledge.”
