Your guide to the festival frenzy at DU

The students of Delhi University are impatiently awaiting the coming fortnight for the non-stop masti it promises. This is a time when students look forward to stimulating competitions and electrifying band performances. Read on to know what the various colleges have planned for you in the upcoming days.

Shri Ram College of Commerce
Fest: Crossroads'11
Dates: February 1, 2011-February 4, 2011

Presenting some of the best rock shows and band performances, Crossroads ’11 lives up to its reputation this year as well. Watch out for Inferno, which will see some of the best college dance teams take to the stage and battle it out for glory. Wood Stock would revive the legendary rock festival at the college.

The highlight of the festival would be Encore, where the terrific trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy will enthrall the audience.

Kamala Nehru College
Ullas 2011
Dates: February 2, 2011-February 4, 2011

Spanning over three days, ULLAS '11 will see students participating in competitions ranging from music, fashion, dance, to dramatics, choreography, fine arts and others... Events like JAM session and celebrity night shall be the highlights.

Kirorimal College
Renaissance 2011
Dates: February 2, 2011-February 3, 2011
The fest will go on for two eventful days, bringing together lots of talent, passion, joy and enthusiasm along with some power packed performances.

Hansraj College
Confluence ’11
Dates: February 3, 2011-February 5, 2011
War of the DJs, Battle of Bands and Salsa Magic are just some of the events that make Confluence ’11 a must- attend. The highlights of the fest have to be Transfigure, a magic show and Adamya, the pro nite that would bring together artists from the tinsel town.

Miranda House
Fest: Tempest 2011: Elements of Life
Dates: February 9, 2011-February 11, 2011
Being hailed as the first-ever green festival, Tempest ’11 will be the first ever festival in the university to record its carbon footprint. Keeping in view the spirit of social service, the fest has been organised on the lines of encouraging students to fulfill their obligations towards the welfare of society.

Lady Shri Ram College
Fest: Tarang 2010-11
Dates: February 11, 2011-February 13, 2011
The schedule for Tarang lis jampacked with events and has something for everyone. Boasting of a mix of competitions around diverse themes, the fest aims to include almost all disciplines. The highlight of the festival is the battle of bands, which is being organised by the college for the first time.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College
Fest: Mélange 2011
Dates: February 24, 2011-February 25, 2011
Promising non-stop entertainment and excitement, Mélange ’11 has an eclectic blend of programmes. While biz quiz, brandict and RJ hunt can be interesting; the highlight of the show shall be the battle of the bands.
