Jharkhand’s Nitish from LWE-hit Palamu bags 23rd rank in UPSC

Nitish Kumar Singh, 25, from Jharkhand’s left wing extremism-hit Palamu district has bagged the 23rd rank in India in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSE) results declared on Wednesday.

Nitish completed schooling from GGPS in Bokaro and studied science in Class 12 at DPS Bokaro. He completed his B Tech from Indian School of Mining Dhanbad, now IIT.

His father Prayag Singh is a retired employee of Bokaro Steel Plant and mother is a homemaker.

Nitish cleared UPSC in his third attempt and wants to serve the society in every possible way, he said.

“I want to serve the people of this country and try and contribute towards the betterment of the society, “ he said.
