Designed by a private firm and formally started by Vijay Kumar Dev, adviser to the UT administrator, the portal has provisions for employers as well as job aspirants to register and search for candidates and opportunities, respectively.

"Chandigarh has a large population of educated youth, with women being the majority. This portal will provide them a unique opportunity. With the increasing number of youth joining the Indian workforce in the next 10 years, the portal will ensure good job opportunities at just a click,"said a spokesperson.

The website - a free service - was conceived under Mission Poorna Shakti through the efforts of the State Resource Centre for Women and the District Convergence and Facilitation Centre, units of the Chandigarh Child and Women Development Corporation.

The adviser, speaking on the occasion, congratulated the department and expressed hope that the portal would open new career avenues for women in the city, said a release.

Social welfare secretary V Lalramthenga and department director Tilak Raj were also present at the event.
