The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has declared results of the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Aptitude Test

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has declared results of the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Aptitude Test. The test was conducted on November 5 and 19 in 54 cities across the country.

The list of candidates clearing the test has been declared and students can check it from the official website, kvpy.iisc.ernet.in.

KVPY, a national programme for fellowship in basic sciences is run and funded by the Department of Science and Technology to hunt for talented students wishing to pursue science courses and a research career in science.

Potential researchers, through the programme, are encouraged to realise their academic potential and take up higher studies in science, becoming in the process the best scientific minds for research and development in the country.

Steps to access the KVPY aptitude test result

1.To access your results, go to the KVPY website or click here.

2.Once the page opens, click on ‘Details of students short-listed for KVPY Interviews 2017’

3. Check your results under:

Stream SA - General SC/ST PwD

Stream SB - General SC/ST PwD

Stream SX - General SC/ST PwD

There is no re-evaluation for the online exam.

A notification on the KYPY site says that as the selection process is not yet over, the marks of the student will not be available now. However, the marks of all the students selected/not selected will be published on the KVPY website during April 2018, after the entire selection process including interviews is completed.

Eligibility criteria for KVPY 2017 was:

(a) Stream SA: Students enrolled in Class 11(science) during the academic year 2017-18 and having secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in mathematics and science subjects (physics/chemistry/biology) in the Class 10 board examination.

Students promoted through both the Summative Assessments-II conducted by their school and the Board were eligible to apply, if they satisfied eligibility criteria. If the students had obtained a letter grade in the qualified examination, they were allowed to convert it into an appropriate percentage marks and fill up the application form.

(b) Stream SX: Students enrolled in Class 12 (+2) during the academic year 2017-18 and aspiring to join an undergraduate program in basic sciences (BSc/BS/BStat/BMath/Int MSc/MS) for the session 2018-19 provided they had secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in mathematics and science subjects (physics/chemistry/biology) in the Class 10 Board examination. They had to secure 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in mathematics and science subjects (physics/cChemistry/biology) in the Class 12 board examination before taking up the fellowship, if awarded.

(c) Stream SB: Students enrolled in the first year of an undergraduate programme in sciences (BSc/BS/ BStat./BMath/Int MSc/MS) during the academic year 2017-18 and having secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in science subjects (physics/chemistry/biology) in the Class 12/(+2) Standard Board Examination. In the 1st year final examination of BSc/BS/BMath/BStat/Int MSc/MS they had to secure 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks before taking up the fellowship, if awarded.
