USIEF launches postdoctoral research fellowships with Fulbright-Nehru awards
The US-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) has introduced “Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Research Fellowships” with its annual competition for Fulbright-Nehru and other Fulbright fellowships for Indian citizens for 2011-2012.

Open to students, academics, teachers and professionals, these fellowships are offered in all disciplines. The application process will begin on May 1, 2010. USIEF expects to offer about 110 Fulbright-Nehru fellowships to Indians in 2011.

Admission for PhD at Deakin
Australia’s Deakin University is offering a Master’s by research pathway to a PhD for candidates who are interested in making a career in research but are not able to secure direct admission to a doctoral programme. The research focus areas include advanced materials, steel and light metals, metallurgy, textile technology, biotechnology, biomaterials, biosciences, nanotechnology and intelligent systems. The applicant must have a BTech, MSc, MTech or MPhil degree with at least 60 per cent marks in his/her last degree qualification and 60 per cent marks in all exams from Class X onwards. S/he must have some previous research experience.
