Education must be relevant to life: UGC chief
In a convocation ceremony held by KIIT World, Gurgaon, chief guest Prof Sukhadeo Thorat, Chairman, University Grants Commission, said that education must be relevant to life and must impart human values. In all, 117 candidates of MCA, 89 of BEd, 74 of BCA, 101 of BBA received the degrees. Guest of honour Prof P B Sharma, VC, Delhi Technological University, asked the students to always fire their imagination and relentlessly pursue knowledge in their lives. He also stressed on maintaining self-discipline and purity of mind. He advised that one must not falter in adversity.

Career fair at IIT Guwahati
Starting tomorrow, IIT Guwahati’s fest ‘Techniche’ will roll out a career fair to enrich students about numerous career and study opportunities. The fair will draw guests from around the world. Those who wish to study in European countries can also look forward to meeting representatives from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and NUFFICC (The Netherlands Organisations for International Cooperation). The delegates will answer students’ queries at the event. In addition to that, one would also get theopportunity to participate in a series of workshops. These include arthrobotics workshop, human computer interaction (HCI) workshops, light painting workshop and ethical hacking workshop.

The fair would also witness displays of distinguished robots created by Dan Roe from New York. Roe has conducted exhibitions displaying kineticrobotic sculpture and sculptural robotics at MIT museum and Massachussets College of art and design.
