Study aerospace engineering in the UK
In the final year, students will work on a research project led by one of its leading academics
The University of Sheffield, UK, is inviting applications for its bachelor’s in aerospace engineering programme starting September 2017. Students will learn how to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of engineering disciplines. After a year of core study, students will get to choose between avionic systems or aeromechanics stream. In the final year, students will work on a research project led by one of its leading academics.

The modules cover aero propulsion, aerodynamic design, aircraft dynamics and control, computational aerodynamics and project management. The course includes studying experiences of flight instrumentation and an individual investigative project of the student’s choice.
All students also take the Global Engineering Challenge, where teams work to solve engineering problems in developing countries. This is designed to develop the student as a professional engineer and enhance career prospects. After three years, students leave as a highly numerate graduate with transferable project and team-work skills that are attractive to a range of employers.
Generally, the university asks for 80% marks in Class 12 including math and physics. International students need overall IELTS grade of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or an equivalent English language qualification. The fee for the course is £19,500 (Rs 16.66 lakh approx) per year.
Last date of application is June 30, 2017. All students that are offered a place will receive a guaranteed £2,500 (Rs 2.13 lakh) scholarship. The University of Sheffield also has 50% merit scholarships available from February 2017. For further information, click here.
