“Damn it,” he utters in exasperation. Outside, twins Vibhu and Vasudev Vashisht are moving towards their school — APS, Noida. They are dejected with their results as neither managed to score above 80 per cent. From inside the café screams of disappointment and elation can be heard.
Cyber cafes seem to have replaced the long queues at schools. At APS, there is a gradual milling of students who have their results.
Amidst congratulations and hugs, Annapurna, the commerce teacher, introduces Shruti Bhat who is the school topper with 93.6 per cent. “I am relieved that they have done so well. Students have been calling up since last night about the results,” she says excitedly.
