Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), Lucknow has issued a notification inviting online applications from eligible candidates for direct recruitment to the post of junior engineer (trainee). There are 71 vacancies in UPPCL and 155 vacancies in UP Power Transmission Corporation Limited (UPPTCL). The number of vacancies are tentative and can be increased or decreased according to requirement.
The online submission of application form along with fees and processing charge Can be done between October 10 and October 31. The computer based test (CBT) for selection of candidates will be tentatively held in third week of November.
Candidates applying for the post should have thorough knowledge of Hindi (Devnagri script). If he/she has not passed high school or equivalent examination in Hindi, he/she will have to clear an exam conducted by registrar, Department Examination, Govt of UP, within three years of joining.
The candidate should have passed three years diploma examination in electrical engineering awarded by Pravidhik Shiksha Parishad, UP or equivalent diploma recognised by state govt or 3 years diploma in electrical engineering conducted by AICTE or conducted by any university in India incorporated by an act of central/state legislature.
The minimum age for applying should be 18 years and maximum should be 40 years as on 01.07.2017. There is relaxation of age for certain category of candidates.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of written test only. The test will be of 200 questions carrying 200 marks. Candidates will be given three hours to take the test. Out of the 200 questions 150 will be from diploma level engineering branch syllabus for the post applied, 20 questions of general knowledge/awareness, 20 of reasoning and 10 on general Hindi. Each correct answer will be awarded one mark and 0.25 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. Candidates scoring less than 30% marks will be rejected. The merit list will be prepared on basis of marks obtained in computer based test (CBT). Candidates will be called for document verification, 2 times the vacancy on the basis of CBT exam merit.
The selected candidates will have to undergo training, for a period as decided by UPPCL.
