UPSC civil services main 2016: Exam schedule released, check it here

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the schedule for the civil services (main) examination 2016, which will be held between December 3 to December 9.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the schedule for the civil services (main) examination 2016, which will be held between December 3 to December 9.

Candidates who qualified in the preliminary exam will be allowed to write the second phase of the examination, which is the main. The commission released the results of the preliminary exams on September 16.

Those who will clear the main examination will be called for an interview. The final selection will be made on the basis of the marks obtained in the main examination and the interview.

Candidates can check the detailed schedule for the exam on the UPSC’s official website.

The examination will be held in two sessions:

Morning (9.30am to 12pm)

Afternoon (2pm to 5pm)

No exam will be conducted on December 4 (Sunday) and December 8 (Thursday).

The first paper to be conducted is the essay in the morning session on December 3. General Studies Paper I and II will be held on December 5 in the morning and afternoon sessions respectively. General Studies Paper III and IV will be conducted on December 6.

Indian language paper will be held in the morning session on December 7, while the exam for English is scheduled for the afternoon session. (Check details of the Indian language paper at the bottom.)

The commission will hold the exam for the optional paper chosen by a candidate on December 9. Optional Paper I is scheduled for the morning session and Paper II for the afternoon. (Check details below).
