Assam Election: Jamunamukh Assembly Constituency 2022

Jamunamukh is the assembly constituency which comes under the Nagaon district. It is one of the 126 Assam Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Assam Assembly Election 2021 for Jamunamukh was held on April 1 and the result was declared on May 2.

In 2016, the Jamunamukh assembly seat had 1,82,822 registered voters. Of the, 97,833 were male and 84,989 were female voters. 0.6% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In 2016, 14 candidates were contesting for Jamunamukh assembly constituency seat. Jamunamukh was one of 13 seats won by the Independent. All India United Democratic Front's Abdur Rahim Ajmal won the election by defeating independent candidate Rejaul Karim Chowdhury by a margin of 13,205 votes.

92.7% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. All India United Democratic Front's Abdur Rahim Ajmal grabbed a total of 65,599 votes, while independent candidate Rejaul Karim Chowdhury got 52,394 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Bashir Uddin Laskar bagged 23,849 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 42.9%, 34.3% and 15.6% respectively.

In Assam Assembly election 2011, All India United Democratic Front's Mohammed Sirajuddin Ajmal defeated Indian National Congress's Rejaul Karim Chowdhury by 12,726 votes.
