Chirag Paswan LJP candidate Bihar election 2025

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) or LJP(RV)

  • Birth Year:1982
  • Description:The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), led by Union Minister Chirag Paswan, the son of socialist leader Ram Vilas Paswan, was consistently advocating for Chirag to contest the Bihar assembly election 2025. Ram Vilas Paswan himself never fought an assembly election after winning from Alauli once and losing in his next attempt. After his historic victory from Hajipur Lok Sabha seat in 1977, Ram Vilas went on to become MP representing Rosera once and Hajipur on all other occasions. He didn't contest the 2019 Lok Sabha election and became a Rajya Sabha MP instead. Ram Vilas Paswan always focused on central politics and kept his brothers in state politics. Chirag Paswan seems ready to overturn that tradition. As Nitish Kumar is ageing, Chirag is exploring his own possibilities in a post-Nitish political landscape. It was Chirag Paswan who convinced Ram Vilas to align with the BJP, and he himself won his first Lok Sabha election from Jamui. The party founded by Ram Vilas Paswan, the LJP, is now split between Chirag and his uncle, Pashupati Paras. However, in the Lok Sabha election of 2024, the people gave Chirag new strength by electing five MPs from his party. Paras is currently out of the NDA and is looking for a way to enter the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance). Before entering politics, Chirag also worked in a Hindi film. With the slogan "Bihar First, Bihari First", he wants to also be a challenger to RJD's Tejashwi Yadav on the youth turf.
