Description:Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of former Bihar chief ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, is a prominent politician known for his rustic style and controversies. He first entered the Bihar assembly in 2015, representing the Mahua constituency in Vaishali district. At just 27, he became a minister in Nitish Kumar's government and later held the portfolios of health and environment. In 2020, Tej Pratap Yadav was elected as MLA from the Hasanpur constituency and was appointed a minister again in 2022. Known for his distinctive style and statements, Tej Pratap has often made headlines for non-political reasons. These include family disputes, a much-publicised divorce from his wife Aishwarya Rai, and accusations of anti-party activities. In May 2025, his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, publicly announced that he was expelling Tej Pratap from both the family and the RJD. This move followed a series of public disputes and alleged disregard for family values. Despite the turmoil, Tej Pratap remains a well-known figure in Bihar politics.
