A former Goa chief minister, Digambar Kamat till date holds the record for being the only CM to complete a full term, and is eying another shot at the top post. He started his political career with the BJP in 1994 and was elected in 1999 and 2002, before moving to the Congress in 2015, and was re-elected. He became the chief minister in 2007. If the Congress forms the next government, Kamat is the prime candidate to helm the top post once again.
