In Karnataka Assembly Election 2018, there were 2,19,224 registered voters for Raichur assembly seat, out of which 1,09,972 were male and 1,09,156 were female voters. 0.3% of voters opted for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Raichur constituency had 27 candidates for assembly seat contention. Raichur was one of 104 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Shivaraj Patil won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Syed Yaseen by a margin of 10,991 votes.
The top two candidates split 82.7% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Shivaraj Patil got a total of 56,511 votes, while Indian National Congress's Syed Yaseen secured 45,520 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Mahantesh Patil secured 7,796 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 45.8%, 36.9% and 6.3% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Janata Dal (Secular)'s Dr. Shivaraj Patil S. beat Indian National Congress's Syed Yasin by 7,871 votes.
