Rasipuram is one of the 232 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Namakkal district. Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2021 for Rasipuram was held on April 6 and the result was declared on May 2.
In 2016, the Rasipuram assembly seat had 2,22,650 registered voters. Of the, 1,10,150 were male and 1,12,500 were female voters. 1.3% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election 2016, Rasipuram constituency had 12 candidates for assembly seat contention. Rasipuram was one of 134 seats won by the Dravida Munetra Kazhagam. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Saroja V. Dr won the election by upstaging Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Duraisamy V.P by a margin of 9,631 votes.
89.2% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Saroja V. Dr got a total of 86,901 votes, while Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Duraisamy V.P got 77,270 votes. Pattali Makkal Katchi's candidate Pushpagandhi J grabbed 6,952 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 47.2%, 42.0% and 3.8% respectively.
In Tamil Nadu Assembly election 2011, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Dhanapal.P outperformed Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Duraisamy.V.P by 24,717 votes.
