Banda is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Banda district. People of Banda voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 23 and the result was declared on March 10.
Banda assembly constituency had 3,04,186 electors in 2017, out of which 1,67,542 were male voters and 1,36,644 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.3% votes.
In 2017, 21 candidates were contesting for Banda assembly constituency seat. Banda was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Prakash Dwivedi won the election by defeating Bahujan Samaj Party's Madhusudan Kushwaha by a margin of 32,828 votes.
91.4% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Prakash Dwivedi grabbed a total of 83,169 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Madhusudan Kushwaha got 50,341 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Vivek Kumar Singh bagged 32,223 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 45.9%, 27.8% and 17.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Vivek Kumar Singh beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Dinesh Chandra Shukla (Lala) by 7,602 votes.
