West Bengal Election: Chakdaha Assembly Constituency 2022

Chakdaha is the assembly constituency which comes under the Nadia district. It is one of the 294 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Constituencies . West Bengal Assembly Election 2021 for Chakdaha will be held on April 17 and the result was declared on May 2.

Chakdaha assembly constituency had 2,22,668 electors in 2016, out of which 1,15,290 were male voters and 1,07,378 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 1.2% votes.

What happened last time

In the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election 2016, Chakdaha constituency had 6 candidates for assembly seat contention. Chakdaha was one of 211 seats won by the Communist Party Of India (Marxist). All India Trinamool Congress's Kar Ratna Ghosh won the election by upstaging Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Biswanath Gupta by a margin of 23,653 votes.

The top two candidates split 88.1% of votes between them. All India Trinamool Congress's Kar Ratna Ghosh got a total of 94,241 votes, while Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Biswanath Gupta secured 70,588 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Pradip Kumar Sarkar secured 16,294 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 50.4%, 37.7% and 8.7% respectively.

In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, All India Trinamool Congress's Naresh Chandra Chaki defeated Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s Biswanath Gupta by 14,099 votes.
