Sanjay Leela Bhansali shares a special bond with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The two created magic with Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Aishwarya once said, “He doesn’t have to tell me what to do. I just know what he wants. We just have to look at each other and the shots are in place.”

Mumbai Mirror reports that post the Ash-Salman rift Bhansali decided to be ruthlessly professional about the casting of his films. And a source reveals that "He sent a message to Kareena, an actress he has been interested to work with, that he had a role for her.”

But before Kareena could rejoice, Raavan flopped and Bhansali felt so bad for his friend Aishwarya, who was banking on both Raavan and then Guzaarish to take her to new heights, that he decided that his next feature will be with Ash.

He realised he couldn’t have chosen a worse time to decide to work with another actress. Says a source, “Sanjay felt that by bringing Kareena in his film at a time when Aishwarya had suffered such a debacle, he would be betraying her.”
