But on second thoughts, I’d rather stay put at my centrally air-conditioned penthouse, where Madhu my Mottu Maid attends to my every whim and fancy. Anyway, before I go on and on about moi, let me tell you what everyone in tinsel town is gupshupping about.

For starters, I’ve just been informed that Asin is fast-earning an image of being a daredevil. The actress was shooting for a Tamil film with south-side star, Vijay, near Ooty when her hair-stylist asked her to choose the flowers she’d like to wear in her hair for a song sequence scheduled later that evening. After some aroma therapy of the phool khile gulshan gulshan, Asin chose the Night-blooming Cestrum, popularly called the raatrani. When her hair-stylist warned her that wearing those flowers post sundown was risky, as the fragrance attracts snakes, the abhinetri brushed aside the belief.

According to my khabru, Asin declared that she was not afraid of the creepy crawlies and laid a bet with the unitwallahs that she would wear the raatrani in her hair and venture out into the dark open fields. Predictably, the heroine won the bet. But that’s not the end of the story.

I’m told the next day, Asin arrived at the location with a snake draped around her neck. Initially, some unitwallahs were scared, but it was only when they ventured near Asin, did they realise that it was a fake snake. The only person most amused by their fear was the actress herself. Really now!
