Bips on beau, bouquets and turning 31
Bipasha Basu added another year to her age on January 7. And she enjoyed all the attention she got on her special day, unlike beau John Abraham who “runs the other way when it comes to cutting cakes”.
“I spent all day cutting cakes with different groups of family members and friends,” said Bipasha. “Though I couldn’t take all the calls and SMSes, I answered all of them the next day.”
Adding more she said, “My house was filled with flowers and made it fragrant and attractive. You have no idea how wonderful flowers look in a newly-renovated house. My two sweet maid-servants had arranged the bouquets all over the house.”
Family bonding
While John hates birthdays and went into hiding on his, which was on December 17, Bipasha had no apprehensions in grabbing all the attention on hers.
She went to Delhi with John and flew back to Mumbai in time for a family lunch.
“It’s an annual ritual and I wouldn’t miss it for the world. One of my sisters, who’s studying, was not there and we really missed her. But my parents and my other sister, brother-in-law and nephew were home. John was not invited for the lunch,” said Bipasha said, adding, that this was the first time she had celebrated this day in Delhi. “I was born in Delhi and have special links with it. So when I got a chance to be in the Capital for it, I grabbed it.”
John flew along with her for the ongoing Auto Expo. “As you know, John loves anything on wheels. So he was just happy being around some of the best cars in the world.”
After returning from the Expo, John spent a cozy evening with Bipasha. The two flew to Mumbai the next day. John had arranged a party for Bipasha at designer Rocky S’s house, where the actor had invited all her friends. John gifted her a diamond ring with matching earrings.
