Karan Johar stopped by airport security as he forgets to show ID; fans ask 'is it so difficult to follow rules?'

Filmmaker Karan Johar was spotted at Mumbai airport on Tuesday morning. A video of him being stopped by security at the airport gate was shared on social media. Karan was asked to show his documents, as he forgot to stop for ID check and walked right inside the gate.

The video shared on a paparazzo page shows Karan Johar heading towards the airport gate after posing for paparazzi. He wore baggy black joggers with a black T-shirt, and a white jacket. He also carried a big bag and wore black sunglasses. He was stopped by a security personnel to show his ID and travel-related documents. Karan turned for a second and upon realising the situation, and showed his documents to the airport security. When given a nod by the security personnel, Karan proceeded inside the airport.

Reacting to the video, a user wrote in the comment section of the Instagram video, “These people feel so entitled that they think there’s no need to show documents or follow the rules!” One more said, “No one is a celebrity when it comes to airport security. All are equal." Someone also commented, “Look, as if he was doing a favour. Is it that difficult for these to follow security rules. Why behave as if they own everything.”

Meanwhile, it is not known if Karan is leaving the city for work or on a holiday. He recently wrapped up his upcoming film, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. He announced the same with some behind-the-scene pictures and wrote, “It’s been 7 years since I directed a film….. I embarked on a journey of a film that I had to stop mid way for various unavoidable reasons and then the germ of #rockyaurranikipremkahani came to me from a real life family anecdote ( something my father once told me about ) and then my soldiers helped me create everything I wanted to with my 7th feature … I was blessed with the best team … a team so full of love that bidding them goodbye was not easy….. thank you to each and every one of the core team that helped me through thick, thin, Covid and bad weather.”

The film stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan. It is slated for a release on the July 28.
