It’s official! A fourth instalment in the hit superhero film franchise Krrish is in the works, and Hrithik Roshan will be making his directorial debut with it. The superhero films that are a spin-off of the hit 2003 film Koi…Mil Gaya were previously directed by his dad Rakesh Roshan. Krrish 4 to be directed by Hrithik Roshan

Krrish 4 will be directed by Hrithik and produced by Rakesh and Aditya Chopra. Rakesh posted a picture with his son on Instagram, writing, “Duggu 25yrs back I launched you as an actor, and today again after 25 years you are being launched as a director by two filmmakers Aditya Chopra & myself to take forward our most ambitious film #Krrish4. Wish you all the success in this new avatar with good wishes and blessings!” Hrithik's girlfriend, actor Saba Azad commented under the post with heart emojis.

Fans were thrilled with the news, given that Krrish 3 was released in 2013, and fans have been waiting long for an update. A fan commented, “HR turns director for Krish4. Woah, Krazzyyy news.” Another wrote on X, “The excitement is real. Can't wait to see #HrithikRoshan in the director's seat for #Krrish4. This is going to be epic. #Krrish4.” One fan predicted that the superhero film will break records, writing, “Be scared.... #Pushpa2TheRule record is set to break.” Numerous others already predicted the film will be a ‘super hit’.

While Hrithik has always headlined the Krrish franchise, it remains to be seen if a new actor will take over the lead role or if he will continue to play it. The film’s cast and crew have yet to be officially announced, and further details are awaited.

About the Krrish films

The first Krrish film was released in 2006 as a spin-off of Koi…Mil Gaya. It took the story forward with Rohit Mehra (Hrithik) and Nisha’s (Preity Zinta) son Krishna (also Hrithik) leading a sheltered life with his grandmother Sonia (Rekha). Things take a turn when he follows the girl he loves, Priya (Priyanka Chopra), out into the world. He soon assumed the identity of superhero Krrish to fight evil. It is one of the most successful film franchises to be made in India.
