Pathaan: British film board reveals spoilery plot details, sexual jokes from film

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) gives the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan a 12A rating and reveals a few spoilers from the action film's plot regarding violence, sex and threats. The Siddharth Anand film is releasing on January 25.

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has given the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan a 12A rating. The organisation's website also reveals a few spoilers from the action film's plot regarding violence, sex and threats. It writes that the film is about an undercover cop and an ex-con working together "to prevent the release of a deadly synthetic virus". The Siddharth Anand film, also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, is releasing on January 25. (Also read: Pathaan gets UA certificates after these 10 cuts)

MILD SPOILERS FOR PATHAAN AHEAD:

The action film, which has a running time of 146 minutes, has a warning for injury detail, sex, threat and horror, and violence on the BBFC website. Under injury detail, the BBFC warns, "There is occasional sight of bloody facial injuries and also blood from a gunshot wound in the aftermath of violence."

For sex, the website writes, that there are a few scenes in which a woman tries to seduce a man and there are some sexual jokes too. The scenes do not indicate which characters are involved in them.

The warning for threat and horror shares small details of a character's death, waterboarding scenes and others. Being an action film, there are a few warnings for violence. The website shares that, “There are shootings, stabbings, strangling and explosions, as well as stylised hand-to-hand fighting which includes punches, kicks, headbutts and throws.” Mild bad language includes the terms 'bloody', 'screw', 'God', 'damn' and 'hell'."

The BBFC website also indicates that one scene has been cut from the film, but does not share which one has been axed. In India, the Central Board of Film Certification gave Pathaan a UA certificate. The film has ten cuts which were made upon suggestions from the CBFC including the removal of Deepika Padukone's close-up shots and a few dialogue changes.
