Model Danielle Bux has revealed that her hubby, retired football player Gary Lineker, writes her cheesy love poems. Bux, 30, and Lineker, 49, are currently appearing on the ITV show Mr & Mrs on which, in addition to writing the poems, the former England striker and BBC presenter has been revealed to love watching soaps and listening to “weirdo music”.
During the show, Lineker is shown a selection of joke crisp packets with his face on them and asked to choose which one sums him up best. He picks one called Gary’s Burnt Bits, which refers to an incident when he almost burnt down the kitchen, and Bux picked a packet called Gary’s Cheesy Puffs. “I went for them because he is quite cheesy. I always say, ‘You are cheesy, Gary’,” she said.
An embarrassed Lineker defends his poems by saying: “I don’t think they’re cheesy… but they do make you queasy.”
