We caught up with the cricketers as they wrapped up a session in the pool at ITC Maurya. Laughing and playing pool games — the players seemed to be having a blast. Karthik, wearing a T-shirt and a pool towel, danced when a Hindi song played on someone’s phone — reminding onlookers of Ranbir’s towel dance in his debut film Saawariya (2007). “I’m really excited. Playing in Delhi is like playing at home,” he said.

“I love being here, especially old Delhi and its hustle bustle,” said Aussie cricketer Adam Gilchrist. “We are in good form and having fun,” said Piyush Chawla. While most of them were in a hurry to get to their rooms, Praveen Kumar took some time out and signed autographs and got pictures clicked with fans.
