It will snow in Delhi this year

It’s going to snow in Delhi on Christmas eve this year! Well, at least in one location in the city. The Second Sin restaurant in Saket is organising a snow fest on Christmas eve. Six machines, brought from Germany, will be lined along the periphery of the terrace restaurant to produce snow flakes.

“We have made sure that snow is produced at a mellow pace so that people can sit comfortably,” says Kushagra Nagrath, COO of the lounge-bar. Nagrath explains that the venue will be reminiscent of the White Christmas celebrated in Finland. “If it snows in Finland on Christmas it is considered very auspicious,” he says.

There will also be Bollywood music and retro numbers playing. People are advised to dress in warm clothes before coming for the snowfall. Christmas delicacies like rum cakes, ginger breads and Yule log pudding, along with barbeque and finger foods, will be on the menu.

An exotic looking ‘tree of hope’ has been set up at the lobby. The theme of the Christmas decor is titled ‘Hope’ that is symbolised by colourful butterflies. The tree, which is called the Tree of Hope, has been decorated with a motif of butterflies, using 2,000 snow butterflies. Guests are invited to make a wish near the tree. Apart from this, the hotel has been decorated with traditional Christmas decor. There is an installation of snow men, who are shown riding a sledge. The hotel also has a lavish Christmas menu for the festive season.
