Colleges may be closed today, but that’s no reason for students to not have their share of fun. On Friday, two days before Holi, we spotted some students of Maitreyi College have a pre-Holi celebration near the college. Armed with herbal colors and water — they were ready for a real messy celebration. “We would not have been able to meet up with our college friends on Holi, as we cannot move around the city — it’s a holiday and unsafe too. So, we decided to make the most of this opportunity,” says Gagan Prit Kaur, a BA Program student.
Excited shrieks mingled with mirthful giggle as girls smeared each other with red, gold, green and pink colours, ignoring some little mock protest. “Life is all about fun, and Holi epitomes fun”, says Heena Kaim, another student of the same college. “We will have a small get together and dance on the popular Holi songs and the recent chartbusters”, quipped Deepa Nayak.
