Pop singer Katy Perry has said that she is tired of being in the public eye. The 27-year-old, who calls fame ‘disgusting’, has been a regular in the gossip columns since splitting with husband Russell Brand in December.

Perry insisted that though she still loves her job, she hates the exposure that comes along with it.

“I’m tired of being famous already! But I’m not tired of creating. Fame is, I think, just a disgusting by-product of what I do,” Contactmusic quoted her as telling Teen Vogue magazine.

“It’s a wild animal of sorts. It can love you, and then it can attack you,” added Perry, who wants fans to see her as a normal person.

“I want to be approachable and relatable. When I meet fans and they’re crying, I’ll say, ‘Calm down, there’s nothing to cry about... Let’s just hang out and have a good time’,” she said.
