The 55-year-old food writer told Observer Food Monthly magazine that women of her generation were keen to not be tied to the stove, but the aftermath of this was that they felt a sense of dread in the kitchen, the Daily Express reported.

Lawson, who describes herself 'self-evidently' as a feminist, said that she feels its anti-feminist to denigrate any activity due to its traditional association with female sphere.
