Getting unlucky with Lucky

A television journo called the singer-actor Lucky Ali for a special show his channel was planning for his father Mehmood, but he hung up the phone.

Oi oi… what is this I’m hearing subah subah now? A saheli has called to complain about Lucky Ali now. And I always thought of him as an amicable gentleman. Replying to my query, my gal pal tells me that a television journo called the singer-actor for a special show his channel was planning for his father, the late Mehmood.

Strangely, Ali was neither polite nor courteous. I’m told that Lucky replied in monosyllables and hung up without listening to their show’s concept. Thinking it was a network problem, the reporter redialled the number, but Ali disconnected the call.

Aur pata hai kya? A while later, the poor journo tried contacting Ali again, hoping to get lucky, but no avail. This time, the actor-singer answered, but cut the call saying “Wrong number,” I’m informed. Such rude behaviour from movie town folks is just not happening, I tell you. But then, such is life dearies.
