Friends have dismissed reports that Rebecca Hall was the reason behind Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes’ split. Rumours were abuzz that 27-year-old actress Hall was the reason the couple split after seven years, reports The New York Daily News.

According to the Daily Mail, Mendes was charmed by her after working with her in his 2006 flick Starter for 10, and even more so when she starred in his theatre shows in New York and London.

However, pals of both Hall and Mendes have denied the claims. “Yes, they know each other, but that’s about it,” says an insider close to Hall, who insists, “Rebecca has absolutely nothing to do with their split.”
