John Mayer is tired of speculation surrounding his love life, and so, has decided to take a break from dating. Here's what the musician said in a talk show.

John Mayer is tired of speculation surrounding his love life, and so, has decided to take a break from dating.

The musician told US TVtalk show host Ellen DeGeneres he is a little freaked out by the interest in who he's with.

"I'm not dating. I have sort of a funny track record, which is actually not that strange given my age. I'm a little freaked out right now about it, to be honest,” Contactmusic quoted him, as telling.

He said: "For some reason, whoever I date has been famous for a while. I can't sit here and be like, Oh please, let me live my life in private with this famous person who's been around for 15 years. I think I may have got lost a couple of times, but so does everybody. I'm just going to hunker down. 2010 is a peaceful year for me, no matter what I do."

The 32-year-old star has dated a number of high profile women including singer Jessica Simpson and Friends star Jennifer Aniston.
