The winter chill is fast making way for the spring. It’s the season of love, and touching everyone’s life. One such love story had begun a long time ago and luckily culminated into the holy nuptial that Virender and Aarti had wanted. And, now Mrs Sehwag, Aarti feels blessed to have married the Nawab of Najafgarh. “It’s nice to marry the person whom you have known and wanted,” she says, sharing how it is to be the wife of the dashing India batsman.

“Whatever his aggressive persona is on the field, Viru is a home-bird,” says Aarti. And how much is she a cricket lover? “I just watch the match for him (Viru),” Aarti is honest. And Virender knows it well — he had once said to HT City that his long innings were to keep his wife in front of the TV! “Ya, actually,” smiles the lady. “The moment he’s out, my interest starts veering elsewhere,” confesses Aarti.

We get a bit personal and ask her about what’s behind a news channel’s recent “exclusive” show on the India-opener supposedly heading for a hair-transplant in Dubai. And Aarti is generous enough to clarify. “I don’t know from where they get these kind of news,” she makes her displeasure clear. “Viru is too busy playing.” But would she ever want hubby dear to have a makeover? “Have never really thought about it,” she says. “In any case, for me he is as handsome as ever,” Aarti cover-drives all questions out of the boundary.
