Sherawat revealed a teaser poster of the film on the micro-blogging site Twitter in response to the question, “Which is your next Hollywood movie?”
Asked whether she’s playing “the 1st lady or the secretary of state?” in the film, Mallika responded, “Heheh. or future pres of US lol.” The film follows the romance between a Democrat campaign volunteer and her Republican counterpart in the run-up to the 2008 US Presidential elections.

Principal photography will kick off from January 13 in Los Angeles. In the movie, being directed by filmmaker Doug McHenry, Sherawat plays the role of Aretha Gupta, inspired by Kamala Harris, the attorney general of San Francisco. The tagline being used by the production company, Nuclear Mango, for the film is, “Politics has never been this sexy”.
