It’s barely days since the nominations were announced and the year’s very first film awards already have people running them down. Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has expressed his displeasure over the lack of nominations for his film Delhi-6 in the Star Screen Awards that take place in Mumbai on Saturday.

Starting a blog just to protest the nominations, Mehra, in his very first post wrote, “I am surprised that ground-breaking contribution by Prasoon Joshi is missing. Songs like Arziyaan, Rehna tu, Dil gira dafatan, Masakali, Yeh Dilli hai mere yaar, come by once in a lifetime...” He said he is also disappointed for Binod Pradhan’s camera work and Nakul Kamte’s sync sound not finding a place in the technical awards nominations.

Prasoon Joshi, lyricist of the song Man Ko Ati Bhave from London Dreams which is nominated for best lyrics, is equally upset. “I share Rakeysh’s sentiment. It is disappointing when your own industry doesn’t acknowledge your hard work.” Mehra told HT City, “If Delhi-6 was the highest selling album, did the people buy it just impressed by its cover design?”
