Pop star Beyonce Knowles, 29, who made the producers of Robot happy when they came to know that a scene in her song Run the World video looks similar to one in the Rajinikanth-starrer, remembers India fondly.
“I was very excited to visit the country and loved all the support I got. Something that I have not seen anywhere… very groovy. It was fantastic, very warm people and food was really spicy,” she says, recalling her performance in Mumbai in 2007.
The singer, who maintains that the video in her new album, 4, has nothing to do with Robot, is revelling at her recent Billboard Millennium award win. Many were surprised when she trumped Lady Gaga to the number one spot, but Knowles is all praise for her. “I love Lady Gaga!I love all that she does… she is electric,” she says, adding that all the fame is difficult to handle.
“I get really uncomfortable when I’m not performing on stage or doing a photo-shoot and have too many people looking at me expecting a performance. I wish I’d disappear.”
