Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta seem to have become Bollywood’s new NBFs — new best friends. The actors, who are known to have never seen eye to eye since their first film together — Andaaz (2003), are now bonding big time on Twitter.
After Dutta announced her pregnancy last week, PC tweeted, congratulating the actor, "yaaay! @DuttaLara super duper news!! im so excited lara paaji!!! yaaaaay!! cant wait to do your baby shopping!! hehe!! (sic)" she wrote. Lara replied, "thanks bebe!! Figure I’m going to be spending A LOT of time in these shops for a while! :-)"
The exchange of pleasantries didn’t stop there. When Chopra announced her debut as an international singer with pop icon Lady Gaga’s manager, Dutta wished the actor, saying, "Congratulations!! U’ve come a long way babe!Way 2 go!!Still remember the Miss India talent round and ur sensational singin!", to which PC replied, "thank u @DuttaLara .. muah."
PC and Dutta had won their Miss World and Miss Universe titles respectively in 2000. However, ever since their first film together, they have reportedly never been on cordial terms. According to reports, there was a cold war between the two on the sets of Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2, in which the two have been cast. Lara had however rubbished the reports, saying they were never at war.
