'Ranbir doesn't need our advice on relationships'

Lately, Ranbir was linked with every co-star, including Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra. His parents Rishi and Neetu Kapoor open about their son's link-ups.

After 30 years of marriage and two kids, Ridhima and Ranbir, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor return to the theatres together as a teacher and his wife trying to make ends meet in Do Dooni Char. "Even though she had been away so long, Neetu hadn't forgotten anything. We clicked from the very first scene and thanks to her, the Chaddhas are a believable couple," Rishi says.

Neetu admits that in her younger days, she paid little attention to what Rishi did on the sets. "But this time I realised that my husband is hard-working," she smiles.

The duo have been promoting their movie on TV shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar. They also appeared on a talent hunt a week after son, Ranbir, and his Anjaana Anjaani co-star, Priyanka Chopra, fetching higher TRPs.

"It's humbling that people want to see us together. We're definitely not competing with Ranbir. We can't play hero and heroine at our age," Rishi points out.

The couple celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this year and Neetu insists that the reason for their successful innings is patience. "We don't get into each other's hair. While Rishi was working, I was raising the kids and looking after our house. I only contributed suggestions on the scripts he and Ranbir got," says Neetu. "We've had disagreements but one learns to let things pass. Sometimes, that's best."

Even with our experiences, we can't give him any tips.
