The Umbrella hitmaker, who had a violent break-up with singer Chris Brown last year, has been inspired by Perry's whirlwind romance with fiance Russell Brand, reported News of the World.

Rihanna, 22, is involved in the preparations of the pop star's wedding to Brand in October this year, which has got her thinking of her own marriage as well.

"Rihanna adores Matt. She can't imagine life without him. Ri's really involved with the wedding because she's one of Katy's best friends. She wants that same sort of happiness. They want a formal engagement next year and won't take long to get married," said a source.
