Recently it was reported that director Samir Karnik upset the Deols by giving more prominence to actor Kulraj Randhawa in his film Yamla Pagla Deewana. The film also features Dharmendra and his sons Sunny and Bobby Deol. The reports pointed a link up between the director and Randhawa as the reason for this bias.

However, Dharmendra denies any such occurrence. The veteran actor says he is hurt and angered by the narrow-mindedness of people who circulate such rumours to the media. He says, “Nothing of this sort has happened. If it did, it would have become bigger news. I wouldn’t have kept quiet. I am soft- hearted. However, if something goes wrong I am vocal about it.” He adds, “It’s just bad press, to provoke someone by disseminating such false information. I don’t understand why people try to make others uneasy instead of living peacefully.”

The octogenarian insists that Karnik is like his son and that the one year they spent together making the film was like a picnic with family. He says, “Samir is a great director. Kulraj (Randhawa) is like my daughter and she has done a good job in the film.”

Ahana won’t act
The actor also denied another report about his daughter Ahana being signed for Udaan director Vikramaditya Motwane’s next project opposite Kunal Kapoor. He says, “Ahana will not do films. She and I plan to get into organic food farming. Besides, she is very busy with her fashion designing work.”
