After a bumpy start with claims of a torrid affair and spurned ex-lovers, and even an SMS scandal, the Shane Warne and Liz Hurley love saga seems to have hit an all-time high. Forget Brangelina or David and Posh, ‘Shurley’ or ‘Wurley’ as the cricketer-actor pair is being labelled, is the new ‘it’ celeb couple.
Recently, a golf firm sent across a gift of golf clubs left at the former Australian cricketer’s door step. An inscription on the bag read, "We hope you enjoy your next round." And fanning the Shiz (another nickname for the couple) mania is none other than the couple themselves.
"Where is the sexiest place to take Elizabeth for lunch?’’ asked Warne via Twitter last Thursday, two days after Hurley flew down from London to meet him. She, too, tweeted from inside his house, ‘’A beautiful, lazy sunny day in Melbourne — am nearly converted to vegemite,’’ as a slew of photographers waited outside.
Though this isn’t the first time that either of them is going public with love, Twitter has fuelled the obsession this time around. In fact, such is the craze that when they did emerge out of Warne’s residence in Melbourne last week, a police escort was required to clear the pack of photographers. One paparazzo even got hit by their car!
